MRS. ANN BLASER YOUNG 

BAHAMA:  Ann Blaser Young of Bahama departed this life on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at home after a courageous fight with cancer. She spent most of her life in Columbus, Georgia where she was a Kindergarten teacher and pilot. Mrs. Young was a teacher in Hillsborough.  She instructed private and commercial pilots to obtain their licenses and also was a relief pilot Flying Tom's Foods Sabreliner Jet. She had a great love of teaching and flying. In 1998 she moved from Georgia to Durham.  

While here in Durham, she taught Kindergarten at Bethesda Elementary School 5 years until she acquired cancer. She lived on 5 acres in Bahama and loved the quiet, peaceful life in the country with the animals that roamed her land. She also loved the quiet peaceful countryside of the golf course and played whenever possible with her beloved husband.  

She was a member at Fellowship Baptist Church and enjoyed the Preacher's Sunday School classes. She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Unit #21 Schackney Whitly, Ladies Auxiliary of the Foreign Wars # 2740, and a member of the Order of Eastern Star of Bahama No. 203.  

She is survived by husband, Kenneth Young of Bahama, a sister Doris Fox of Columbus Ohio, an Aunt and Uncle in Grand Rapids, Michigan; 2 step-daughters Patricia Karpolea of Primevile, Oregon and Sandra Young of Aschaffenburg, Germany, three step grandchildren and two cousins is Ohio.  

Visitation will be Friday, June 20, at Clement Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 21, at 11:00 a.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church, 515 Southerland Street, Durham (919)596-9331. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center Office of Development DUMC 3828 Durham, NC 27710.
